Nintendo Direct announces new titles and features for the 3DS and Wii U this morning, as well as some anticipated release dates. Shigeru Miyamoto also made his first appearance on the Nintendo Direct stage to discuss what he calls “the year of Luigi” and some new instalments to the Mario bros. franchise.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata came on Nintendo Direct this morning, announcing content for the Wii U including new games, Miiverse improvements, and a new Wii U virtual console. For Nintendo nerds out there, here is a wrap-up of all the highlights this morning. 

Capcom’s Resident Evil: Revelations, previously only available on the Nintendo 3DS, is headed to consoles in May.

 Project X Zone will make its way over to Europe, Australia, and North America for the summer of 2013, exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS.

 Nintendo has launched plans to merge both their handheld and console units into one team by Feb.16, making this one of their biggest changes since 2004.
